Branson, MO ranks #19 top destination in U.S.; New 240-foot slide opening this spring
In April 2014, Branson, MO was deemed one of the Top 25 vacation destination spots in America in the “Travelers’ Choice Awards,” an honor bestowed by popular travel website, TripAdvisor.com.
The winners were announced April 8 when the website revealed the results of its 6th Annual Travelers' Choice™ awards for Destinations. TripAdvisor used millions of reviews on its website over a twelve-month period to determine it’s best rankings.
Capital Resorts Group has vacation properties in two of the top destinations —Branson, MO and Myrtle Beach, SC. Branson came in at number 19.
“Branson visitors are a loyal group that choose to share their wonderful experiences freely on TripAdvisor,” according to Lynn Berry, Lynn Berry, Director of Communications
Branson/Lakes Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. “3rd-party referrals are just golden! Many folks look for recommendations in TripAdvisor,” she added.
TripAdvisor lists 287 “things to do” in the Branson area, and many of them have high rankings among travelers. The website also offers reviews of most all of Branson’s numerous amenities, including 305 restaurants, 161 hotels, and much more. All of these rankings and reviews helped contribute to Branson’s current status as a U.S. Top 25 destination.
“It's called the Live Music Show Capital of the World,” touts TripAdvisor.com. “On any given day, almost 90 music, magic and comedy shows run at 50-plus theaters. Think Las Vegas without the casinos and people drinking margaritas-by-the-yard at 10:00 a.m. Between shows, enjoy nature in the Ozarks. You'll find great fishing, hiking, biking and water sports in the area,” the website states.
Grand Crowne Resort, part of Capital Resorts Group, is located at 300 Golfview Dr, Branson, MO 65616. It is Branson’s only locally-owned and managed Vacation Ownership Resort.
Grand Crowne Resorts began operations in 1981 as Surrey Vacation Resorts, Inc., when Owner, C.J. Perme purchased a twelve acre tract of land in Branson, Missouri.  His construction company, L & J Consolidated Enterprises, began building the Townhouses at Surrey, and since has established 6 more resort properties and over 1,000 fully furnished condominium-style units in Missouri and Tennessee.
Branson’s favorite family resort, the masterfully designed Grand Crowne Resort property is perched atop an Ozarks mountainside, overlooking a multi-million dollar golf course and the stunning Branson skyline. These modern condominium-style villas are conveniently located just 3 blocks south of Branson’s famous entertainment district, West Highway 76. One, two, and three bedroom floor plans are available with jetted-tubs, private balconies, private baths, fully furnished kitchens, great rooms, and washer/dryers.

Branson sparkles with its own distinctive brand of live musical entertainment. There’s plenty of outlet and craft shopping, and restaurants to suit every appetite.
What’s new for 2014? “Jonah” is a $3 million production at Sight & Sound Theatres. This epic production brings the familiar Bible story to life as the audience witnesses Jonah’s tribulation and God’s grace and enduring love. Jonah’s adventure takes him through a terrible storm, an  encounter with an enormous fish, his new life in a wicked empire and the struggles he faces while learning to trust the Lord.
For thrill seekers, White Water has a $1.7 million addition. “The Biggest Thrill in White Water History” began with the idea of a heart-pounding, drop-floor plunge. KaPau Plummet will open this spring with two 240-foot slides, each launching riders from a drop-floor into a 70-degree plunge followed by a spiraling loop, promising the best thrill factor of any water ride ever built at the 13-acre tropically-themed water park.

Myrtle Beach, SC ranks #22 Top Destination; New wax museum opening in 2014
Coming in at number 22 on TripAdvisor’s top destination rankings is Myrtle Beach, SC. Listing 211 things to do, Myrtle Beach “is all at once a spring break destination, golfing destination, retirement community, and family vacation spot,” touts the website.
Visitors to the area may take in a foot-stomping show at the Carolina Opry, or cheer on a favorite knight at Medieval Times. Mingle with the fishermen of Springmaid Pier, and then stop for ice cream along the boardwalk. Shop and dine at one of the area’s many outdoor entertainment complexes, or simply explore the many beaches of the Grand Strand – all with a personality of their own.
What is Myrtle Beach’s newest upcoming attraction? It’s The Hollywood Wax Museum. Construction is currently underway to get the museum up and running by early summer. The Myrtle Beach location will be the fourth in the famous chain that was begun on Hollywood Boulevard in 1965. Besides the original, other museums can be found in Branson and Pigeon Forge. The museum will house the signature wax figures of Hollywood stars and other famous celebrities. There will also be two other attractions in the same building — although it has yet to be revealed what those will be.
If you’re headed to Myrtle Beach, Capital Group offers stays at Seaside Resort, where guests may soak in the South Carolina sun and savor a relaxing beach vacation. Some vacationers decide to enjoy deep relaxation just by staying on property. Others find themselves exploring the many places along the Grand Strand, from shopping, fishing, dining, live shows, golf and much, much more.
Suite and resort amenities include one, two, and three bedroom suites, separate living room area, dining room, balcony, full equipped kitchen with dishwasher, wireless internet access, cable TV, washer / dryer, jetted tub, indoor and outdoor pool, lazy river, and hot tubs.
